A little sooner than anyone expected, I'm sure. But this particular snowstorm dumped not only well over a foot in many hikeable areas of Jersey (Pa. & NY, too), but most of the white stuff caused more dangerous trail conditions other than just ice or slips. With this snow being so heavy and wet there's a lot more downed trees in populated areas so I can only imagine what's occurred/is still occurring along trails in that regard.
Other than just using our common sense and knowing our own limitations, I'm sure we'd appreciate any info on any notable trail damage and/or closures due to this storm.
Thanks. Linda

I just added the annual forum for winter trail conditions, you beat me to it! I cannot believe this is something we even have to be considering this early in the year.
And our Winter Hiking page has links to NJ snow depth maps if anyone needs them.
