Worthington State Forest, NJ: Appalachian Trail - Sunfish Pond - Dunnfield Creek 8/20/2011

I did the reverse of this hike: http://njhiking.ning.com/profiles/blogs/dunnfield-creek-sunfish-pond
just a little over a year since I hiked to Sunfish Pond the day of the fire, 8/7/10.  It was a very foggy morning, which was actually kind of neat. (Better fog than smoke!)

As NJ Hiking had written, it is obvious the AT acted as a fire break with fire damage on one side, no damage on the other side.

Did not see any snakes like NJ Hiking did, but saw a ton of huge tadpoles in the process of becoming frogs in Sunfish Pond.  At first they all splashed away but when I sat hunched on a rock, camera in hand, they all reappeared and seemed to be very happy to pose for a photo shoot.

Great tadpole shot!!! He's so cute. Love it when wildlife pose for photos.
