NJ Hiking: Connect

A Social Network for New Jersey Hiking Enthusiasts

For foliage resources & reports, update your bookmarks to "NJ Fall Foliage".

Autumn color can be fleeting and elusive, so to help others in search of where the color is happening around New Jersey, we started a forum where you can post Fall Foliage updates.

For a list of foliage resources, check out our "NJ Fall Foliage" page. (If you have foliage resources we don't have listed there - web sites, twitter feeds, or whatnot - post them here and we'll add to our foliage page)

Post the park or area, the amount of color (ie, unchanged, low, medium, peak color), and the date. Include a pic if you have one!

10/30/11 - Head to central and southern NJ for high color. The north portion of NJ is mostly past peak.

Maurice River Bluffs, Millville in southern NJ:

11/6/11 - Green Lane Park, Montgomery County, PA. 50% peak, 50% past/leaf drop. Most of the color was found in the woods on the trails, while areas in the open like along water or the roads were past peak or dropped entirely.

New Jersey Turnpike south and southeastern PA along the PA Turnpike still had nice color. The color faded and leaves dropped the further west we traveled along the PA pike.

11/13/11 - New Jersey is past peak with a decent amount of leaf drop, but there are trees with color still in mostly the central to southern regions.

11/13/11 - Washington Crossing State Park, Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain, Goat Hill

A good 90% leaf drop but still a tree here and there in full color and splashes of color in the lower foliage.

Goat Hill looking into New Hope, PA across the Delaware River from Lambertville, NJ:
