Columbia Trail Conditions

My wife and I are considering a tandem ride on the Columbia Trail this weekend.  Will we need a chainsaw or lifejackets?

Between Califon and Flanders the trail is in great shape, we rode it Tuesday. In fact, we saw a couple on a tandem. I can't speak for Califon to High Bridge, but that's usually not a problem.
