NJ Hiking: Connect

A Social Network for New Jersey Hiking Enthusiasts

Today we hiked the blue trail at Jenny Jump. We could not get over how many trees where down!!!!! The trails where covered up with fallen trees, Every 50 to 60 yards. We made it to the old foundation where we sat and warmed up our soups, As we ate lunch we tried to figure out what was stood on this foundation, we thought it might be an old fire tower, if anyone knows please let us know, i'm posting a few pictures of the trail, all in all it was a great hike.

Hi Scott - I assume you mean this old foundation?

There used to be a old cabin where you could walk out onto the porch to take in the view.  The photos below are from August 2000 of the cabin and some of the walls that were filled with graffiti.

I found a reference to the cabin in the 1998 version of 50 Hikes in NJ, "... the cabin, now unused, is slated for demolition, but the view will still be there. One local insists this is the actual site where Jenny jumped."

Not sure when they actually tore the cabin down. The photo above was taken in 2009 but I have another foundation photo from 2006.
