Please visit NJHIKING.COM - Connect is no longer updated

Hey guys I am new to hiking and on this past weekend I hiked peanut leap trail up in alpine and it was really fun. I was wondering what are the names of some fun and challenging trails in NJ, I live on the Jersey shore so the closer to the shore the better !

Hello Steve - We've collected some of the best hikes in the state here: http://www.njhiking.com/best-hikes-in-nj/ with some challenging ones: http://www.njhiking.com/nj-challenging-hikes/.

Most of the major hikes are in the highlands or along the Kittatinny ridge in northwest jersey but along the shore you might look into Harthorne, maybe Wells Mills in the Pine Barrens... check out http://www.njhiking.com/nj-hikes/ and our map locator for some ideas.

And if you liked the Palisades area, there are a lot of miles of trails there... get the Hudson Palisades map if you don't have it.

Hope that gets you started a bit,

--Dawn
