Schooley's Mountain Park 7/21/10

My wife and I decided to stop at Schooley's Mountain Park on our way to the Delaware Water Gap since we were travelling up 206 anyway. We have hiked Hacklebarney, and according to the map this wasn't too far passed that in Long Valley.. You can't miss the trailhead as there is a good size sign that says Patriots Path off of Fairview Ave. You immediately start heading uphill for the first 0.9 miles, which doesn't sound like much, except when it is 94…

Washington Valley State Park - 7/4/10

We were looking to do less driving during the holiday weekend. I didn’t have a lot of info on the park, it’s not in any of our books, no trail mileages to really gauge the park by… but it was only 30 minutes away so we didn’t have much to lose. Boy was it HOT though …. 95-ish and sunny HHHHOT. The weather has been brutal for hiking lately.

Four Birds Trail (Wildcat Ridge WMA and Split Rock Reservoir, Rockaway, NJ) - 6/12/10 and 7/3/10
